Vineyard

The Taemas vineyard consists of four hectares planted as follows:

Shiraz (1997) 1 Hectare
Cabernet Sauvignon (1998) 1 Hectare
Merlot (1999) 0.6 Hectares
Pinot Noir MV6 (1999) 0.6 Hectares
Shiraz (2000) 0.6 Hectares
Viognier (2002) 0.1 Hectares
Pinot Noir 777 (2005) 0.1 Hectares

This diversity of variety leads to progressive ripening of the fruit and facilitates hand picking over a four to five week period between mid-March and the end of April.

While irrigation is usually not required during the first few months of the growing season, the hot dry summer weather usually necessitates minimal watering during January and February.
