Geography

The Taemas vineyard is located some 2-3 kilometres west of the Barton Highway, between Hall (ACT) and Murrumbateman (NSW). It is about 30 kilometres from the centre of Canberra, the national capital.

The vines are planted on gently-sloping, north-facing terrain at an altitude of 560 metres.

The soil profile consists of 20cm of topsoil, over 20cm of clay which sits on a bed of free-draining decomposed granite.

The Taemas vineyard and garden is home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna, in particular birdlife.
